What qualifications tutors need to work under the scheme?

Unread post by admin_bbw » May 17th, '17, 10:23

To work with children under the provision scheme rules the Department of Education require tutors to be registered and Garda vetted by the Teaching Council of Ireland. (http://www.TeachingCouncil.ie).

We have spoken with the Teaching Council and the answer is a bit of a long one, so we'll set out an overview of the steps needed

To be eligible to register with the Teaching Council, tutors must be educated to a Level 7/8 standard and also have a required number of hours of experience. There may also be a requirement to have Irish.

The actual rules governing Teaching Council registration are quite detailed and should be reviewed by each potential registration candidate. The process includes applicant's supplying proof of name/address, certified copies of degrees and/or diplomas, experience and hours of work being confirmed. There may also be a requirement for an interview.

For the detailed application process we suggest you visit http://www.TeachingCouncil.ie or you can call them direct on 01 651 7900.

If you have any questions about the scheme and how it works please feel free to message us or alternatively email us using Support@JulyProvision.com.
